The TRUTH About Cortisol and Belly Fat (It’s Not What You Think)

Hi Reader👋

In this weeks video I'm talking about cortisol...

Because there is nothing that frustrates me more than seeing people being sold false promises — especially when it’s at the expense of their health.

In fact, thats the core reason I started my YouTube channel in the first place.

I truly believe everyone deserves access to reliable, evidence-based nutrition advice—without long waitlists, expensive programs, or confusing misinformation.

But the truth is, there will always be people out there trying to take advantage. My best advice? Be skeptical if something sounds too good to be true, and always check a person’s credentials before following their advice. Unfortunately, the term “nutritionist” isn’t regulated, so the quality of information online can range from excellent… to downright dangerous.

Dietitians, on the other hand, are regulated by law — so you can trust that the information we share is grounded in science.

And if you ever feel confused about something you see online and want a second opinion, please just reach out. I try my best to reply to everyone — and who knows, your question might even inspire a future video that helps hundreds of others too.

Anyway, I hope this week’s video helps you feel a bit more confident and clear on what’s fact vs. fiction when it comes to cortisol and your health.

Anyways please stay happy and healthy and safe. I'm currently locked in at home as we await two hurricanes that are on route to Bermuda.

Wish me luck!

Maria 💛

Hi Reader Every year when Black Friday rolls around, I get this little knot in my stomach… because I know how many people are about to be taken advantage of by sneaky wellness “deals.” And you know me — the whole mission of my YouTube channel and social platforms is to give FREE, reliable, evidence-based nutrition advice to as many people as possible. So when I see people spending money on things they absolutely do not need, it doesn’t make me angry… it actually makes me a little sad. Why...

Hi Reader This week's YouTube video is one I’m genuinely so proud of. It’s all about women’s strength — not just in how we look, but in how we feel and age. Because losing fat while building muscle isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about setting yourself up for the next 10, 20, even 30 years. You’re strengthening your metabolism, protecting your body, and investing in your long-term health. Whether you’re going through menopause, pregnancy, missing periods, postpartum recovery, or you simply...

Hi Reader This week's YouTube video is not a trending topic, and honestly? It probably won't get a ton of views. But here's the thing: I don't make videos to go viral. I make them to genuinely help people and lately, this topic has been coming up constantly in my clinic. I've been having so many conversations with clients about blood sugar control. Many of them work with their doctor alongside me, and taking a proactive approach has revealed something important: a lot of them have...
