The Hidden Hormone Disruptors Hiding in Your Kitchen

Hi Reader👋

If you watch me on YouTube you know by now my goal is always to make health accessible, not expensive. Hence the sheer amount of free education I give away.

So before we go any further, I want to be clear: you do not need to throw out everything in your kitchen. You don’t need to replace it all at once, and you definitely don’t need a full kitchen makeover to make a difference.

However, with the Amazon Prime Day sale happening, I do think it’s a good time to share some of my favorite products, especially if you’ve been thinking about upgrading a few things.

And endocrine disrupting chemicals are real. These are substances found in certain plastics, non-stick coatings, and even some food storage containers that can mimic, block, or interfere with hormones in the endocrine system (the network of organs and glands that make and control our hormones).

However the good news is that small changes really do make a difference. Here are some simple steps you can start with:

✅ Gradually replace plastic or non-stick cookware with safer alternatives like stainless steel, cast iron, or ceramic. (And remember, you don’t need a pot or pan in every size — just a few high-quality pieces.)
✅ Swap plastic water bottles for stainless steel or glass ones.
✅ Invest in a good water filter jug. I recommend one with granular activated carbon (GAC) or reverse osmosis (RO) technology.
✅ When possible, choose food packaged in cartons instead of cans.
✅ Avoid microwaving food in plastic. Transfer it to a glass or ceramic bowl and cover with a plate or paper instead of cling film.
✅ Drink from glass or stainless steel cups and bottles rather than plastic.

But if you don’t feel like shopping today, here’s your fun, actionable takeaway: eating more fiber can actually help your body get rid of some of these hormone-disrupting chemicals.

So it’s not that you need to go buy fancy new kitchenware. Simply eating more plants, think veggies, fruit, beans, nuts, seeds, and whole grains helps your body process and eliminate them naturally.

And honestly, that one small habit will help you in so many other ways too, from better digestion to happier hormones.

Hi Reader Every year when Black Friday rolls around, I get this little knot in my stomach… because I know how many people are about to be taken advantage of by sneaky wellness “deals.” And you know me — the whole mission of my YouTube channel and social platforms is to give FREE, reliable, evidence-based nutrition advice to as many people as possible. So when I see people spending money on things they absolutely do not need, it doesn’t make me angry… it actually makes me a little sad. Why...

Hi Reader This week's YouTube video is one I’m genuinely so proud of. It’s all about women’s strength — not just in how we look, but in how we feel and age. Because losing fat while building muscle isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about setting yourself up for the next 10, 20, even 30 years. You’re strengthening your metabolism, protecting your body, and investing in your long-term health. Whether you’re going through menopause, pregnancy, missing periods, postpartum recovery, or you simply...

Hi Reader This week's YouTube video is not a trending topic, and honestly? It probably won't get a ton of views. But here's the thing: I don't make videos to go viral. I make them to genuinely help people and lately, this topic has been coming up constantly in my clinic. I've been having so many conversations with clients about blood sugar control. Many of them work with their doctor alongside me, and taking a proactive approach has revealed something important: a lot of them have...
