7 Genius Tricks to Eat Less and Not Feel Hungry (Using Science)

Hi friend👋

Sharing an ugly truth about myself today.

Everyone that watches me on YouTube remarks that I come across as a very nice person...but wait.

I’m a nice person… until I’m hungry.

And I know we all get a little hangry now and then, but trust me I'm particularly bad!

And here’s the thing — I know I’m not alone. A lot of people try to lose weight or improve their health by eating less, and suddenly they’re tired, irritable, and just plain miserable. Not because they lack willpower, but because they’re hungry.

Now, yes, some level of restraint is often part of the process when your trying to make healthier choices. But over the past few years, I’ve dived deep into the science of satiety — what makes us feel full and satisfied — and I can tell you this:

👉 You can eat less and still feel full. You can reach your goals without feeling hangry 24/7.

So, in my latest YouTube video, I share 7 smart, science-backed tricks that help you eat less without turning into a cranky shell of yourself. You’ll learn:

  • What the Satiety Index is (and why croissants fail but Irish spuds come out on top!)
  • Why protein is the hero of appetite control
  • How to use simple tools like smaller plates and volume eating to your advantage

Also, many of you have been asking me for advice on choosing a protein powder and because I'm a super helpful person I wrote a full article on the topic for you! I like the brand Naked because they are not very expensive and use very few ingredients. I've checked and they also seem to ship to most countries as I know I have readers from every corner of the globe 🌏 Any questions on the topic- just let me know!

💌 As always, I love hearing from you. Let me know what topics or recipes you'd love me to cover next—or what you're struggling with most when it comes to eating well and feeling your best.

I always read and reply 💚

Hi friends👋 As a dietitian, I never set out to work in weight loss. Honestly? I have qualifications that go far beyond that — gut health, fertility, prenatal nutrition… I’ve spent years specialising in these areas. But the truth is, I kept getting asked for help with weight loss. And when I did? People got incredible results. So even though it wasn’t my original plan, I’ve leaned into it — because helping people lose weight in a realistic, compassionate, and sustainable way is something I...

Haemochromatosis Awareness Week

Hi friend👋 I want to talk about something a little different today — something really personal. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with haemochromatosis, also known as iron overload. It’s a genetic condition where your body stores too much iron — and over time, that excess iron builds up in your organs and can cause serious damage. Here’s the thing: I wasn’t alone. My dad has it. So does my sister. And both of my brothers. But despite all that, I still went undiagnosed until my late 20s. The...

Hi Reader👋 It’s kind of ironic that I’m sending you this now — after missing last week’s email! But honestly, I’ve been flat out busy myself lately… and that’s exactly why this topic is so relevant. Because losing weight is hard enough — but when life is hectic? It can feel impossible. Between work, family, and trying to keep it all together, it’s no wonder health takes a backseat. But the truth is: you don’t need to do more — you just need to do what actually works. In this week’s YouTube...
