If you've tried a probiotic and noticed nothing, read this 💩

Hi Reader 👋

Happy (belated) International Women's Day! 🌸

In the spirit of celebrating women, I want to talk about something that affects women disproportionately more than men...

Constipation.

I know, not the most glamorous topic, but over the years in my nutrition practice, I've had more conversations about constipation than almost any other topic, and it's almost always women who are quietly dealing with it.

That's not a coincidence. Hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle, gut motility differences, pregnancy, postpartum changes, iron supplements... there are real, physiological reasons women are more affected, and I think it deserves more attention than it gets. Because if we're being honest, it can really impact how confident you feel day to day and your quality of life. Everyone feels better when they've had a good poo!

The usual advice (drink more water, eat more fibre, move your body) is all valid and genuinely helpful. Full YouTube video on this topic coming soon! But for a lot of people, especially those with underlying gut issues, these changes alone are not enough.

That's where probiotics come in. But here's the problem: most of them don't work.

I chatted about this in my recent Instagram video, which you can watch here.

So I wanted to share the one probiotic strain I actually recommend for constipation: Bacillus coagulans Unique IS-2™ (MTCC 5260), which is what you'll find in MIOME's IB-ONE.

In clinical studies with people experiencing constipation, we're talking about 1 bowel movement per week. This strain increased that to nearly 6 per week, all in just four weeks of daily use. Impressive.

I've written up my complete review covering the clinical evidence, what makes this strain different, and my honest assessment of whether MIOME gets the formulation right.

Have an amazing week.

Hi Reader First things first... I owe you a little apology. I've been quieter than usual in your inbox lately. Life has been full (in the best and busiest ways), and I let the emails slip. I haven't forgotten about you though! And honestly, coming back with this week's topic felt right, because it's one I've been wanting to talk about for a while. Blood pressure. I know. It doesn't exactly scream exciting. It's not going to go viral. It's not a trending topic and its not going to get many...

Hi Reader I’m writing this from a plane on the way to Hawaii for my honeymoon ✨ I’ll be doing a lot of hiking and walking while I’m there… which actually ties in perfectly with the YouTube video I’ve been working on over the past few weeks. I’ve seen so many videos lately saying there’s a “right way” to walk for fat loss… And honestly, as a dietitian who really values keeping things simple… it’s getting a bit ridiculous. Apparently we need to be:- interval walking- fasted walking- in Zone 2-...

Hi Reader 👋 As a dietitian, I do believe supplements can play an important role. But honestly? Most people are wasting a lot of money on the wrong ones. I’ve just put together a full YouTube video and a detailed article breaking this down, so you can stop guessing and start being more intentional with what you take. Here’s the part that might surprise you… There is only one supplement I consistently recommend to almost everyone. And if you’re not taking it, it’s worth seriously considering. 👉...
