A little Sunday snack idea 🍫

Hi Reader

Welcome to The Sunday Spoonful 🥄

Every (or almost every) Sunday, I’ll be popping into your inbox with a recipe I think is worth making, whether it’s something brand new or an old favorite you may have missed.

And I thought these Nut-Free Protein Balls were the perfect place to start.

I’ve had so many requests for snack recipes made without nuts. Maybe it’s because of a nut allergy, a nut-free school policy, or you simply don’t love peanut butter.

One of my favorite parts of being a dietitian is figuring out how to adapt recipes for different needs, without making them feel like the “alternative” version.

And even if you have absolutely no reason to avoid nuts, these are still really delicious.

🥣 THIS WEEK'S RECIPE

Nut Free Protein Balls

These little no-bake bites are made with oat flour, hemp seeds, sunflower seed butter, maple syrup and dark chocolate.

A few reasons I love them:

  • No baking required
  • Nut-free as written
  • No protein powder
  • A source of both protein and fiber
  • Really easy to make ahead for snacks during the week

And obviously, the little dark chocolate coating doesn’t hurt. 😋

A quick allergy note: This recipe is nut-free as written, but if you’re making it for someone with a nut allergy or for a nut-free school, always check the labels on every ingredient for allergen and cross-contact information, and follow your school’s individual allergy policy.

It's a handy option if you’re looking for a nut-free alternative to peanut butter -> shop it here

P.S. If there’s a particular type of recipe you’d love to see me make next, just reply and tell me. I’m always looking for ideas.

Have a lovely Sunday, I hope your week is full of good food and good rest 🤍

P.S. If you make this recipe, I’d love it if you left a star rating ⭐️ on my website. It helps my small business and our community so much!

Hi Reader Videos about weight loss, protein or fiber will always get views. They make for a good hook and a satisfying before and after. But my goal will always be to help as many women as possible, not please an algorithm. So here's the topic that almost never comes up: your bones. 🦴 And it's the one I care about most. Bone health doesn't announce itself. There's no bloating, no breakout, no number on a scale to warn you. It just quietly builds, or quietly erodes, for decades, completely out...

Hi Reader First things first... I owe you a little apology. I've been quieter than usual in your inbox lately. Life has been full (in the best and busiest ways), and I let the emails slip. I haven't forgotten about you though! And honestly, coming back with this week's topic felt right, because it's one I've been wanting to talk about for a while. Blood pressure. I know. It doesn't exactly scream exciting. It's not going to go viral. It's not a trending topic and its not going to get many...

Hi Reader I’m writing this from a plane on the way to Hawaii for my honeymoon ✨ I’ll be doing a lot of hiking and walking while I’m there… which actually ties in perfectly with the YouTube video I’ve been working on over the past few weeks. I’ve seen so many videos lately saying there’s a “right way” to walk for fat loss… And honestly, as a dietitian who really values keeping things simple… it’s getting a bit ridiculous. Apparently we need to be:- interval walking- fasted walking- in Zone 2-...
