Hi Reader,
How is it September already?! September always gives me that little “new year” feeling, so before I fully embrace the reset, I wanted to take one last look back at August and share a few things I loved.
One of the biggest highlights was spending time in New York with my mom. I was there for work too and got to film YouTube videos at Kit Studios, which was such a pinch-me experience, but having mother daughter time in the big city was definitely the best part.
🍦 My Ninja Swirl
I already owned a Ninja CREAMi, but I decided to sell it and upgrade to the Ninja Swirl because I LOVE frozen yogurt and really wanted the soft-serve option.
This is honestly one of my favorite ways to help meet my daily protein and calcium needs while still satisfying my sweet tooth. And YES, you can eat something sweet every day and still meet your health goals.
I’ll add some Ninja Swirl recipes to the blog soon, but for now, this is the Ninja CREAMi protein ice cream recipe I make EVERY week.
Do you need the upgrade? Definitely not. If soft serve isn’t important to you, I still think the regular Ninja CREAMi is brilliant. But I LOVE soft-serve frozen yogurt, so for me the Swirl has been completely worth it.

🧹 Robot vacuum
My husband wanted to get this and let’s just say I didn’t object! I was a little skeptical at first because it felt like a big investment and I wasn’t convinced we actually needed one.
He did a lot of research into the different brands and models, and we eventually decided to go for the Roborock Qrevo Edge 2.
As someone who is in the kitchen every day testing recipes, filming and generally making a mess, the floors are constantly needing attention. I can already say this has made my life so much easier and may even positively change our marriage 😂
My husband has also become very invested in the technology and now likes to announce that he’s “mopping the floors” while sitting comfortably on the couch controlling the robot.
Definitely not a necessity, but such a good purchase for us.

🥗 Wooden salad bowl
I’ve been trying to have people over for dinner roughly once a month, and this is just such a pretty way to serve a big salad, grain bowl or side dish.
I used it for my spicy chicken salad last week and there was plenty of room for bulking out the salad with lots of extra veg!

💄 I updated my makeup favorites too
While I was in New York I also gave my makeup bag a bit of an update because I had quite a bit of filming to do and wanted some reliable products that looked good on camera.
I’ve put all of my current makeup favorites together here if you’re interested. i try to stick to paraben and phthalate free products.

💛 What I’m excited about in September
I’m really looking forward to getting back into recipe development this month, with lots of easy, balanced recipes that still feel exciting to eat.
I also have a little more visceral fat content coming soon before I wrap up that topic and move onto some new nutrition deep dives. Constipation and fatty liver disease are both on my list, but I’d love to know what you want me to cover next.
And I’m making an effort to be more consistent with these emails, so you’ll be hearing from me more regularly with recipes, useful nutrition tips and things I recommend.
